Born in San Francisco and raised in Daly City, head coach Gino Francisco is an Filipino American who began training martial arts at age 4. Since then he has practiced a number of different disciplines such as jiu jitsu, karate, muay thai, judo, taekwondo, and boxing.
While living in Los Angeles in 2009, Gino met 10th Planet founder Eddie Bravo. Immediately, Gino began training in the 10th Planet Jiu Jitsu system and currently he is ranked as a brown belt under 10th Planet black belt Denny Prokopos.
Gino is head instructor at 10th Planet Daly City and teaches all classes. He is also a mixed martial arts fighter for the Nor-Cal Fighting Alliance Team, under UFC veteran and legendary Brazilian Jiu Jitsu black belt David Terrell. Due to close contact during jiu jitsu training, dress code is strictly enforced. Wear comfortable clothing that covers as much skin as possible. Remember, you will be in close contact with your training partners. A clothing barrier is recommended. Offensive odors and inappropriate attire will be asked to change. Bring water and change of clothes!

Protective wear (all ages): mouthpiece, groin protector (for males), wrestling headgear (suggested for long hair)

Muay Thai is a full contact martial art and combat sport that originated in Thailand. Also known as “The Art of Eight Limbs” for their use of punches, kicks, knee and elbows, Muay Thai has been proven to be one of the most effective striking disciplines in the world. Coach Gino began his Muay Thai training in 2005 at the legendary Fairtex Training Center in San Francisco. He has fought competitively under the California State Athletic Commission and has been coaching Muay Thai since 2011. Here at 10th Planet Daly City, we believe in making all our students well rounded in both ground and stand up fighting. Our Muay Thai classes are intended for all skill levels and are a great workout option for people looking to improve their overall health and fitness. Sparring is never mandatory in our classes, and we make sure that beginners are shown proper technique with a good foundation in the basics. 10th Planet Daly City is proud to present our kids program! 10th Planet Daly City offers no gi jiu jitsu, muay thai, and combat jiu-jitsu lessons for children ages 5 and up.
At 10PDC, our main goal for our kids program is to instill core values such as respect, focus, confidence, and discipline in the youth through the martial arts lifestyle. We hope to inspire kids to to become positive members of society when they grow up, internalizing the values they learn in class and applying them into their everyday lives. Kids can train solely as a fun hobby, or go into competition and represent the 10th Planet Daly City Team. No child is required to compete or spar and all kids and parents are welcomed to watch a class before deciding to join.
Head instructor Gino Francisco has been working with children for over 10 years and has extensive experience working with kids as young as 4 years old, children with special needs, teens, and young adults.
Please understand that martial arts training is a challenge. It will take time to develop your child's skills and understanding of martial arts, but the rewards that come from training are well worth the effort.
